The vaccine to conquer polio was discovered at The University of Pittsburgh over 60 years ago. Now, it’s the start of a whole new ballgame!
We are thrilled to announce The Live Like Lou Center for ALS Research, a $10 million research facility at the University of Pittsburgh’s Brain Institute. Neil knew that research to find a cure wouldn’t help himself, but he “wanted to do it for the next guy… the next father, mother, sister or brother who receives this diagnosis.” His last public act was a pledge to raise $2.5 million over the next five years to make this Center a reality, and the University of Pittsburgh matched that pledge to bring the initial funding commitment of $5 million. Big thanks to our many donors who have made this dream come true!
