At the Colorado Rockies ALS awareness game, Phi Delta Theta, the Permobil Foundation, and the Team Hilliard Foundation joined us to surprise two ALS families during the on-field presentation. Randy Eichner received a brand new Rockies-branded power wheelchair, and Colorado State University freshman Dmitri Gorely was presented with a scholarship.

Randy Eichner, power-wheel chair recipient, and Dmitri Gorely, Live Like Lou's scholarship recipient, joined on the field with representatives from Live Like Lou, Phi Delta Theta, the Permobil Foundation, and the Team Hilliard Foundation.

Growing up, Randy Eichner excelled in many sports before falling in love with baseball. Today, he is a father of five and grandfather of one. After relocating to Denver shortly after Coors Field opened, Randy enjoyed attending baseball games and devoted many hours to supporting cancer patients in Colorado. Randy's ALS diagnosis in 2016 ended his beloved tech support career, but despite the challenges, Randy remains resilient and continues to fight ALS with great spirit and determination.

In 2021, Dmitri Gorely's grandfather, Bob Porter, passed away from ALS. Dmitri is studying engineering at CSU and dreams of discoveries that could be used to aid people living with ALS. He shared, "I am proud to follow in the footsteps of my hero, my grandpa Bob. He lived every day to its fullest as an engineer and inventor." To assist Dmitri in his college education, the Team Hilliard Foundation and Live Like Lou presented him with a $2,500 scholarship in memory of his grandfather.

It was extra special to have Rockies outfielder Sam Hilliard join us to present these special surprises and to watch him tie up the score late in the game, leading to a Rockies victory!

Matthew Alexander, nephew of Live Like Lou co-founder Neil Alexander, took his wife Chelsea and their newborn son to the Rockies game and cheered during Live Like Lou's presentations to two local ALS families. "The Alexander family is thrilled to see ALS is better than Neil found it at ballparks across the country!" shared Suzanne Alexander, Live Like Lou co-founder.

Live Like Lou is so appreciative of our community and supporters who were in attendance to help us leave ALS better than we found it!
