The Live Like Lou Foundation’s invitation-only biennial ALS Research Symposium will be held Thursday, July 25, through Saturday, July 27, hosted by Sami Barmada, MD, PhD, at the University of Michigan. This important meeting features presentations and discussions promoting learning and collaboration.
Additional programming includes a poster session, abstract presentations, group discussions, an ALS community event, and opportunities to collaborate to advance ALS research. Our 2022 event was held in partnership with the Barrow Neurological Institute in Scottsdale, Arizona. Read more about the 2022 meeting.
Live Like Lou believes attracting and retaining ALS researchers and scientists is a vital outcome of our investments. Currently, limited ALS funding creates bottlenecks, resulting in emerging ALS investigators leaving the field to pursue better-funded neurodegenerative disease areas. By supporting emerging researchers at critical points in their careers, our programs help ensure a steady stream of ALS researchers dedicated to finding treatments or cures. We are honored to host these exceptional emerging investigators to our biennial Symposium.
