Live Like Lou, along with Phi Delta Theta and the Permobil Foundation, hosted a special on-field presentation ahead of the Guardians' ALS Awareness game to surprise a local ALS family with a power wheelchair. Lou Gehrig Memorial Award nominee, Guardians first baseman Josh Naylor also joined all three groups for the on-field presentation.
Elizabeth Them, or Biz as she is known, was born and raised in Mansfield, Ohio. Biz is a 2008 graduate of Ashland University, where she played basketball for the Lady Eagles. She continued her education at North Central State College to become a physical therapist assistant. Diagnosed in December 2017 at the age of 32 with ALS, life shifted drastically. Before living with ALS, Biz was very active and enjoyed boating, skiing, and hiking with her dogs. Her current hobbies include reading, listening to music/attending concerts, and traveling anywhere she can. A few favorite places she has been include any US National Park, Iceland, and Costa Rica. Still residing in Mansfield, she lives out in the country with her husband Scott, two dogs, and three alpacas.
The Guardians may have lost against the Royals, but having you and four of our registered ALS families in attendance makes us the real winners!
Live Like Lou is so appreciative of our community and supporters who were in attendance to help us leave ALS better than we found it! We were extremely fortunate to have four of our registered ALS families in attendance.
Together, we can make a difference while honoring Lou Gehrig’s legacy. Here are ways you can help!
