ALS Awareness Outing with the Philadelphia Phillies

ALS Awareness

The Philadelphia Phillies are longtime ALS advocates and supporters of the ALS community. The Live Like Lou Foundation honored several ALS families on the field before the Philadelphia Phillies game on September 9, 2023.

Guy Dunagan, a retired executive chef from New Jersey, was surprised with a custom Permobil power wheelchair. This chair will provide him safety and independence in his ALS journey. We are so grateful to our friends at the Permobil Foundation for their partnership with Live Like Lou to make these special wheelchair presentations possible.

Sisters Renee and Nicole Fosco celebrated their $2,000 Onward Award scholarships from Live Like Lou to continue their studies at St. Joseph's University. Sadly, their father, Ed, passed away last month. He was diagnosed with ALS in 2018. The Fosco girls will head to veterinary and medical school respectively after earning their bachelor's degrees. They were joined on the field by their mom, Amy.

We were joined by J. David Almacy and Sean Wagner from Lou Gehrig's Fraternity, Phi Delta Theta. The Fraternity's board and staff leadership were meeting in the Philly area and many alumni and friends attended the game with Live Like Lou.
