The Live Like Lou Foundation proudly supports Hope Loves Company, an organization that provides free-of-charge programs specifically designed for the children and grandchildren of people with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). Together with our partners at Phi Delta Theta, Lou Gehrig's fraternity, and as part of our commitment to leave ALS better than we found it, we connect volunteers to participate as camp counselors at regional camps throughout the year (including one virtual camp), to give these brave kids experiences they might not otherwise enjoy because of the disease in their family.
Children who have loved ones affected by ALS often must set aside their free time to help their families with caregiving. They also often face a stigma and economic burden that is the result of ALS. Hope Loves Company programs blend structured support, customized curriculum, and all the standard fun of typical summer camps — campfires, boating, skits, swimming, s'mores, and more!
2023 Hope Loves Company Camp Dates:
ALS families, we hope you'll plan to attend a camp! This year's theme is "Making Connections Along Your Journey" and will celebrate ten years of Hope Loves Company. Camps are typically a three-day, overnight retreat for children and young adults ages, 6-21, and all meals and activities are included. Register today to reserve your child's spot at camp.
Phi Delta Theta members, sign up to be a camp counselor! Serve campers as a buddy, activity leader, or camp counselor focused on encouraging, supporting, and guiding campers through the experience. Candidates with a great work ethic and sense of fun with kids are encouraged to apply.
