The Minnesota Twins Lou Gehrig Day game was a special one!
We were joined by Phi Delta Theta, the Permobil Foundation, and Reliable Medical Supply on the field for a special on-field presentation for a local ALS family and to recognize Carlos Correa of the Minnesota Twins as a finalist for Phi Delta Theta Fraternity's Lou Gehrig Memorial Award.
Rose Aderman, of Brooklyn Park, is a beacon of love and care, not only to her four sons and daughters-in-law but also to her eleven grandchildren. Born in Germany, Rose has been a pillar of her community in Minnesota, where she raised her family with the same dedication she devoted to her 25 years of service at Cub Foods. Rose has shown incredible strength and resilience in her fight against ALS, and she has been an inspiration to her family and all who know her. A passionate supporter of the Minnesota Twins, Rose's spirit and enthusiasm are as enduring as her love for the game. Rose's sons, Rob and Ryan, represented her on the field as we presented her with a new power wheelchair.
The Gehrig Award is presented annually to a Major League Baseball player who best exemplifies the giving character of Hall of Famer Lou Gehrig, who was a member of the Fraternity’s Columbia University chapter. The award was first presented in 1955 and is permanently maintained at the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum in Cooperstown, New York.
Live Like Lou is so appreciative of our community and supporters who were in attendance to help us leave ALS better than we found it!
Together, we can make a difference while honoring Lou Gehrig’s legacy. Here are ways you can help!
